    • Although Sigurd was born on Gulsvik, he was given the name "Bonde" which is not a family name, but a title given to only a few men who distinguished themselves by their wisdom, respect and wealth.

      Sigurd was presumably much younger than his brother, Halvard, which immplied that his father, Bjorn, was married twice.

      Sigurd was once married to Unna, the daughter of Bebjorn, but they had no children. Unna was a sister of Margarethe, the wife of Sigurd Ericksen Ringnes. When Unna's estate was settled in 1482, the heirs were Bjorn, Ketil and Geirmund, the sons of sigurd's older brother, Halvard Bjornsen Ringnes. It is believed that tow of the brothers, Bjorn and Geirmund, lived in Eggedal. Bjorn is recorded as a juror in 1476 and his wife was a Noblewoman, Aase "Vikong" from near Drammen.

      Bjorn bought Frovold in Eggedal in 1471 from Olaf Sigurdsen and his wife, Margarethe Gjermundsdtr. That same year, Olav's daughter, Gunna, gave consent to her father's sale of Frovold before he died. Their is some question whether or not this Olav Sigurdsen was a discendent of Sigurd Halvardsen. It is possible that Olav was another son of Sigurd Bonde.

      Knut Amundsen Gulsvik, who was 100 years old in January of 1996, and others who have studied the Gulsvik family documents, firmly believe that Sigurd Bonde was also the father of Nub Sigurdsen Vold. A document of 1463 states that the two men together received confirmation of Nubls purchase of the Tollefsrude farms from Olav Jonn Sverdsliper (swordsharpener) and his wife Christin Eesteinsdtr.

      Another 1480 document states that Sigurd "Bjorknes" (certainly should be Gulsvik) is with his grandson Thorgils Erlandson from Sten when Sigurd testified that the farms Tromald and Medboen in Flaa were tax-free becaue of their services to the King and Commoner."

      They also believe that Olav Sigurdsen Frovold in Eggedal, first married to amargarethe, the daughter of Geirmund Halvardsen Ringnes at Kodalen, and a second time to a daughter of Rolf Guttormsen at Kirkeberg was also a son of Sigurd Bonde at Gulsvik. He owned South Gulsvik.
